The following are actions that can be credited to the authors, based on CRediT Authors and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE):

  1. Conceptualization (idealization of the study, definition of questions and objectives);
  2. Methodology (methodological design of the research);
  3. Data management (data and metadata management, data maintenance for initial and later use);
  4. Data collection (execution of experiments and application of data collection procedures, such as forms/interviews, for example);
  5. Statistical analysis (statistical design);
  6. Data analysis (interpretation of results and attribution of meaning based on predetermined theoretical frameworks);
  7. Raising funding (search for financial resources);
  8. Project administration (guidance, supervision or coordination);
  9. Resources (availability of materials, equipment and software);
  10. Software (programming, software development; design of computer programs; implementation of computer code and supporting algorithms; testing of existing code components);
  11. Validation (responsibility for evaluating the reproducibility of the research);
  12. Visual preparation of data (visual organization, preparation of tables, tables and other graphic elements);
  13. Writing (writing of the original manuscript);
  14. Revision (critical review of the original manuscript and approval of the version to be submitted).

Contributions for acknowledgment:

People or institutions that have supported and collaborated to carry out the research, but do not meet the authorship criteria, can and should be thanked in a specific field in the item "Declaration of Authorship", in the Cover Page document.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) Contributions:

Please be informed that the editorial team of the Ibero-American Journal of Integrative Health does not recognize AI (Artificial Intelligence) as authorship of manuscripts. We understand that such technology can contribute to specific stages of the research/study process, however, any and all use of AI during the processes of creation and preparation of the manuscript must be described by the authors, in the document of Declaration of Authorship and Originality, and each case can be analyzed. Authors must be responsible for the veracity of the content of the publication and its relationship with the use of AI.

When declaring the use or absence of the use of AI in the preparation of the research/manuscript, the authors must describe in detail whether or not there was a contribution of this technology in each of the steps listed below:

  1. Conception: Describe how the process of using AI was during the conceptualization of the study, if yes.
  2. Methodological design: Describe whether AI was used in the methodological process.
  3. Data: Describe whether AI was used during data collection and/or interpretation.
  4. Preparation of the manuscript: Describe what was the step and how it was used, in cases of AI use, during the process of preparing the manuscript (writing, proofreading, translation, etc.).
  5. In case of AI use: Describe what type of Artificial Intelligence (AI or AI-assisted technology) was used and what was the reason for its use.

Copyright

Accepted and published manuscripts are the property of the authors, managed by the Ibero-American Journal of Integrative Health. Total or partial submission of the manuscript to any other journal is prohibited. The responsibility for the content of the articles lies exclusively with the authors. Translation into another language is forbidden without the written permission of the Editor, after consultation with the Scientific Editorial Committee.

Ethical Principles for Authors

  1. Participation (not accepting to be the author of an article to which he or she did not contribute substantially in its conception, design, data collection, analysis, data interpretation, writing/elaboration, critical review of the content and final approval of the version for submission and publication);
  2. Communication (communicate to the editorial team any incongruity, from omission/concealment of authorship to details of the manuscript);
  3. Originality (authors must ensure that their work is original in its entirety and that the essential content of the manuscript has not been previously published);
  4. Citation (authors must ensure that any non-proper idea present in their articles is properly cited and referenced, since the opposite characterizes plagiarism and is an unacceptable practice);
  5. Verisimilitude (authors must ensure that the information included in the body of the text is true);
  6. Reporting standard (research must have its steps described in detail to enable its replication);
  7. Single publication (the author must ensure that the manuscript to be published is not in the active process of publication in other journals);
  8. Transparency (disclose possible financial or material conflicts of interest);
  9. Notification (notifying the editorial team when they find significant errors/inaccuracies in your work while still in the editing process or after its publication).
