Avaliação por Pares
Articles are evaluated in two rounds of evaluation. The first by members of the Scientific Editorial Board and the second by ad hoc invited reviewers. In the first, the following items are evaluated: adequacy of the files sent; filling in the metadata on the OJS Platform; adequacy of the article to the template and submission guidelines; structure of the article and similarity index. In addition, a preliminary screening is carried out for scientificity, clarity, innovation and novelty. Our average time frame for this task is 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the flow of articles submitted to RISI, and there may be variations.
In the second round of evaluation, the manuscript is delivered to evaluators, respecting the adequacy between the topic dealt with and the specialist's area of knowledge. All texts are submitted to the evaluation of at least two evaluators in a double-blind process, in the following dimensions: cognitive (sequential and logical sequence of the content of scientific ideas), methodological (precise description of the methods and techniques used), and aesthetic (writing, form and standardization).
The reviewers fill out the standard form with predetermined options, in which there is an open field to justify the final decision, accepting, rejecting or recommending corrections and/or necessary adjustments to the manuscripts. This initial evaluation process lasts, on average, up to 90 days, depending on the availability of the evaluators.
In case of disagreement among the evaluators regarding the relevance or not of the publication, the article is sent to a third reviewer and the result is submitted to the Editorial Team for final judgment.
In case of request for changes, the article may be forwarded for further evaluation. No additions or modifications are allowed after approval of the final revision. The articles are then available for publication in order of protocol.
